The Catholic Church is at the forefront of supporting refugees in the UK – including through the Community Sponsorship programme.

Our recent advocacy in this area has included campaigning for an extension of the government’s flagship resettlement scheme to encompass minority groups fleeing the conflict in Syria and challenging the rules around detention of asylum seekers.

We also promote the rights of migrant communities in the UK through dialogue with parliament and the government. Our current priorities include opposing restrictions on access to healthcare” and responding to the recent spike in hate crime.
